Closeup Potrait...

Image
Hmmm, so what if we could not go to any professional photographer for kshreyu's potrait.. we decided to do it at home and take lovely pictures of kshreyu's hands, feets etc. Frist of all we were searching for black background and we had nothing black, then i recalled that i purchased one t-shirt from sears, and that is appropriate black, as we wanted. So we put it on the floor and then put kshreya over that. We took plenty of pictures and few came out perfect.... Its not easy with babies, true...... but we succeed...

Umbilical Gone..

Kshreyu's umbilical cord fell off this morning. We wanted to keep it with us forever, so we were worried if it would fell in the public and we wouldn't be able to get it. And the same happened, sometime back we saw the cord but aftera couple of hours of walk in stroller it wasn't there. We both got unhappy. But luck was favourable to us, after an hour or so I wanted to change her diaper and what I saw, It was stuck in diaper.. Thankgod the diaper was clean.. Now the umbilical cord is with us and will always with us forever... Its like a keepsake...

First Home PhotoShoot...

Kshreya had her first "Professional-like "photo shoot today at home. I was also recovered and was back in my creative type. Kapilji had bought a very beautiful woven white sheet from Big Lots before her birth. So we kept that sheet on the floor with her yello and pink pillows. I dressed her in very light pink dress with a head band. She really looks pretty in a head band as she has great hair. All these shots were taken by Dr. Daddy, i must say he is also creative. I liked all the poses my beautiful daughter gave us or wde can say that we are so frequent in taking shots that we dont miss any poss. She is such a beauty !!

Massage Time..

Image
We had decided before delivery that we would massage our baby everyday because it makes baby's bones strong , relaxes her and ofcourse this is the best time to communicate with your baby. Initially pari used to cry when i start massage, but after a few days she finds it soothing. Florida remains hot so massaging and bathing a baby is not a problem. We were waiting for shedding of her umbilical cord so that I can massage her in a relax way, now its almost dry so wanted to make a start. Today she was happily taking massage, so Isha took some beautiful pics of her massage. I would recommend every Mom to massage your baby, it helps them make strong. If you dont know how to do massage , then there are varous videos on www.youtube.com or you can read some books for that. I read some books and saw some videos as well. I start with the legs, gradually to the stomach, forhead, cheeks, don't forget the ears... then I turn her on her belly and massage her back. This is the best bonding t...

First Peditrician Visit..

Today was a hard day for we all as kshreya got her first shot - a Hepatitis-B vaccine at her first doctor appointment. Since she doesn't cry or fuss too much, so this was a bit traumatic for us, I want to say that i couldnt even look while Kshreya got her shot. kapilji had to do all the big task. I was standing the other side and waiting for the cry, but kapilji did a fantastic job as he was calming pari with all his effort. And now it was my turn, I nursed Kshreya right after the shot to soothe her from pain and distress. by the time we were done nursing, the shot was a distant memory and our little kshreya was ready for the afternoon nap. In other health issues, doctor said that Pari is doing pretty good. She weighted in at 6lbs., 10oz. and measured 20 inches. Although, she gained an inch from birth. We had no such queries as she was sleeping all through the night, no colic. Next visit will be at two months, when she will get four shots, two in each leg. I hope we have enough ti...

Hit Jackpot !!

Image
Today kshreyu is officially 2 weeks old, and with each day that passes our lives and schedules become a little more regular. As we get a better grasp on our new situation, we also get the opportunity to slowly introduce Pari to each of her new toys. Maybe it's because she's too young or has such a short attention span, but until today nothing had made a great impression on her. I think, though, this was the day that we finally hit JACKPOT ! This afternoon Kshreya tried out her Fisher Price Motion Mobile over her Cradle and was quickly lulled into a light napping state. The music of tis motion mobile soothe her, the moving leaves and the hanging cartoon colors attracts her. It will be interesting to see if this baby soothing device can work its magic once Pari is in the midst of a fussy spell.

A New Trick..

Image
Sometimes it takes new parents months before they can get their newborn to sleep without a hitch. Forget packing your kid into their car seat for long drives or rocking them for hours and hours in a glider. Kapilji's idea is much, much better. Take rest on to the couch and let her sleep on him for a few moments. then, we keep her on her bed. I think this little trick may even work with some adults. I also did the same way in the middle of the night when she get awake and takes time to sleep, this is the best possible way to make her sleep... Its feels so comfortable for baby and parents. By the way, doesn't Kshreyu's have the cutest little feet...
